DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
CHECK-LIST SHORT STAY – TOURIST
Signed passport, with at least 2 blank pages, valid for at least 90 days beyond the return date of the trip to the Schengen Area and not issued more than 10 years ago as of the date of return from your scheduled trip. The same applies to passports issued more than 10 years ago that have since been extended,
Completed and signed visa application form (two signatures and signature same as in passport)
One photograph (meeting all photo requirements)
UK residence permit (original + photocopy) valid for at least 90 days beyond the return date of the trip to the Schengen Area.
Copy of applicant’s passport (holder page, signature page and copies of all used Schengen visas in the last 2 years); when applicant opts for passport collection, then an extra photocopy of passport bio data page needs to be provided.
If employed: original and recent (less than 3 months old) employment letter on company letter head/covering letter from company house or accountant on letter head (if self-employed)
If student: original and recent (less than 3 months old) student letter stating attendance and start and finish date of studies
Salary slips (last 3 months)
UK current account bank statements (last 3 months), including name and address of account holder
Confirmed travel ticket, including plane, coach, train and ferry. Please note that all flight documentation must show all names of persons travelling
Confirmed hotel reservation
Valid travel insurance, policy minimum EUR 30,000, with full details of applicant and cover dates
MINORS: Original and copy of birth certificate, original travel consent signed by both parents/legal guardians, copies of passports parents/legal guardians
IF BEING SPONSORED: Sponsorship letter, copy of sponsor’s passport, and valid Schengen visa (if applicable), proof of relationship with sponsor; original and copy of birth/marriage certificate, sponsor’s employment letter and bank statements showing sufficient funds and 3 month’s salary slip
Please note:
Applicants need to ensure they have enough money to cover the cost of the accommodation, travel & spending money of £30.00 per day per person before applying for a visa. Please note that cash, overdraft or credit card facilities are not acceptable as proof of sufficient funds.
If you are retired, please provide your pension letter in place of your employment letter.
An ordinary Nigerian passport that has been extended manually are no longer recognized by the Benelux countries and will therefore not be accepted.
Applicants who have valid visas in old passport need to bring all their passports along with a copy of the valid visa, bio page and signature page and photocopies of the Schengen visas issued in the last two years. The old passport will be returned to you, while the copies will be submitted.
Upon entering the Schengen area travellers must be in possession of copies of all the documents submitted in support of their application.
