我们年底就要搬去爱丁堡，之前一直在欧洲，对苏格兰的教育系统完全不了解，想跟大家请教几个问题。
首先是孩子几岁要求上小学？我女儿9月中旬就5岁了，现在赶不赶得上今年秋季开学入学？入的是一年级还是哪个？
如果我们12月搬过去，还可以插班吗？
听说苏格兰的公立学校质量都还不错，私立学校学费好像也不像英格兰那么贵。爱丁堡的话有没有什么公立小学推荐呢？私立小学呢？
之前看一个mm说中学更重要，如果买学区房还是要看对口中学的质量其次才是小学。是这样吗？麻烦熟悉爱丁堡的朋友推荐几个比较好的区吧。
我家老二现在8个月，上托儿所的话是不是也要提前注册，托儿所的费用大概是多少？

老爱丁堡飘过，那里是longstone附近，说句难听的，也只比隔壁sighthill （爱丁堡最烂的几个区之一好那么一丁点）。爱丁堡几大烂区，pilton，sighthill，niddrie，wester hailes, broomhouse, forrester, 尽量还是别去。学区不好。唯一好一点的烂区，包括在好中学里的是 drumbrae，是royal high。

里面输入你的邮编就可以看catchment了，比较好的小学有Sciennes 在EH9, Bruntsfield在EH10, Bonaly在Eh13, Juniper Green EH14, Blackhall EH4, Stockbridge EH3, Corstorphine EH12，都是不错的，中学看James Gillespie，大概好学区房子就贵点儿，要不远点儿。自己根据喜好先找找再来具体问。希望有帮助。
Your daughter still can go to P1 this year at least for state school. For private school the admission process is completed now and you normally need to have an assessment to get a place during Jan for the semester starts from Aug. Or you can put her on the waiting lists. If you plan to stay in the Scotland it’s ok to choose a good public school but if you are an expatriate it’s better to choose private school as they run both Scottish and international curriculum.
Yes, you need reg for your little one for the nursery, again good nursery has a very long waiting lists. the cost is about 1K per month.
BTW , if you both working full time, it maybe better off to hire a nanny rather than go to the nursery as the school normally starts around 9 and finishes at 1515, you would need before/after school club arrangement.

爱丁堡有学区房的，eh10 bruntsfield morningside 对口的小学都非常好，中学更是爱丁堡第一名的公立，私立小学，esms, George heriot, George waston 都不错，还是英格兰系统的fettes 啥的也很好，tony blair就是那学校的

上公立学校的话小孩子允许插班的吗？就是说我们不用等到下一个学期才可以读？
另外你说的scottish curriculum 和 international curriculum有什么区别呢?
只要学校有空位，任何时候都可以插班上学。
小学阶段follow什么教学大纲没有什么关系，到中学阶段就不一样了，因为涉及到考什么qulification的问题。
